LIFE AFTER THIS BLOG POST

I have been so engulfed in studying for finals, I almost forgot to do this!

The last few months have been crazy, minor scares of all sorts, endless piles of assignments, exams for days, and an ever increasing to do list. But doing something like this, where I can take time to refocus to remind myself what all this work is for, is definitely nice. I almost wrote my email/letter to myself as a journal entry. For me it is a much easier medium to write in, and I do a better job of getting my point across. So I focused on how I felt right now. The stresses and the craziness of it all, and most of all my fears and frustrations. And although while writing it I did have those small pangs of anxiety, I feel better now than I would have had I not did this. And on November 28, 2014 I will be receiving that email, hopefully things have changed in that year between writing and receiving.

Remembering Mandela

Former South African President Nelson Mandela died today at the age of 95. The champion of human rights, former prisoner, lawyer, and anti-apartheid leader left behind a legacy of compassion and triumph that forever changed history.

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” — Nelson Mandela
